About The Artwork
The Inuit believed the northern lights to be their dancing ancestors. Now here is a man dancing with them. The sculpture is made from an apple tree, which was destroyed by fungi in the core, but the surrounding wood was healthy, had taken the dark color of the core and was extremely hard. I tried to catch the two different kinds of motion, earthbound the one, skywards the other.
