gold in blue void Sculpture

This is an elevated plane of 24 carat gold leaf 'floating' on a void comprised of pure Phalo blue pigment, affixed to Prussian blue oil. The gold leaf is raised on a 5mm board, but moulded in a specifit manner to render the depth fathomless, hence the using 'void' in the title. Despite it's simplicity, this remains my most hard-won completion to date.. achieving the bottomless effect with the background took many attemps, over 2 years. I should also add it was purposefully incorporated within the antique, geometric, Edwardian frame you see in the photos, which is naturally ingeral to the piece and therefore the sale.
