About The Artwork

Candy and pop-art language inspired me for this work. The sculpture is 750 gr cast bronze which I have painted several times with oil paint and then varnished. The edition is in 4 colours and 10 each signed and numbered. Available now in green and yellow. I hope the viewers will see humour, feel happy and think of their childhood.

Art for me is a way to recreate beauty in everyday life by translating what I see to ideas, using and developing technical possibilities to achieve this. Art is therefore evolving, moving in new directions with new motives, searching to discover new craftsman ships. Idea and execution need to go side by side at the same pace. Born in Spain in 1956, raised in Paris I later moved to Sweden, then Luxemburg. There I had my first artistic schooling at l'Ecole des Beaux Arts, before moving back to Paris again. I was accepted at "Salon des Indépendants" in 1991 with a fruit portrait. Settling in Sweden in 1994 I continued with oil painting but learnt also to work with prints, Chinese ink, sculpture and watercolour. Exhibitions included galleries in Sweden, Spain and Greece. Having been admitted to the Swedish Artists' Association in 2001, I received the Members' own award in 2006 for a painting of a fantasy landscape. I represented the Nordic Watercolour Society at an exhibition in Italy with a Water Lilly motive. I was chosen to participate at the City of Stockholm Art Gallery ("Liljevalchs") spring exhibition in 2009. This time I was showing a bronze sculpture group of candy mice. My works have been acquired by several Swedish towns, private collectors and art associations. Since 2016 I live in Menton, France, where I have become influenced by new colours and motives. I believe all artists that arrive here are overwhelmed by the light and the luxuriant vegetation. Lately, I have exhibited in France, Monaco, Sweden, and, nowadays, online. This year, my works will (hopefully) be shown in London and Paris. It will be a series of oil paintings of Mediterranean flora.
