I call these sculptures Tessellated Landscapes. Very interested in the way geometric forms affect the way light and shade and texture describe a topography. Inspired by the way birds feathers create color. The combination of the colors and reflections and refractions and the way they combine and change depending on the viewer's point of view create the effect of light on a moving bird. The piece was constructed by weaving together pieces of cut , creased and folded paper to form 54 joined equilateral triangle pyramids with an indented pyramid in each center. The surfaces where then hand painted and collaged.
