Ships in a Crate
Sunken ship Underwater currents are carrying away torn sails and a flag together with its rope. Sails and frames of cannon portholes are loaded with a variety of ornaments. Traces of fight are obvious on the deck and sides of the ship. Left side is perforated by cannonballs. A roundshot apparently broke off part of a mast, which is hanging on strings now. On the same side one can notice captain's cabin. Inside the cabin there is a chestbox with open lead. Gold coins that once belonged to the chestbox are now scattered around. One can still see ruined sails that apparently were burning when the vessel sunk. The battle had weakened the vessel. Its body had cracked when the ship reached the bottom of the sea. A fish – sea devil appears in a right crack. Its lit bait is turned towards you. When you see it, an unbelievable feeling, something in between of fear and caution, arises. Inside the ship and along its both sides around two hundred small fish move in an organized manner. An octopus appears in the stern of the vessel. Unfinished enamel creates an effect of a faded wood of a ship that had been under the sea for many years. Enamel is loaded with images of underwater world and the scenes of sea battles from medieval times: A mystic dragon catches a grenade two artillerymen just shot. The dragon enraged by the fact that people are fighting with each other, breathes fire towards the sky. You will see here seahorses, an enormous turtle, a whale, a scar fish and an old fisherman from the Hemingway’s novel.
