Alchemy of Light and the Invisible. Vincent Duval, aka Gild, is a visual artist born in 1974 and based in Burgundy-France. A self-taught painter and sculptor, his work is rooted in the currents of abstract expressionism and informal art, shaping a universe where matter, chance and spirituality meet. My paintings are composed of layers of material: mortar mixed with pigments, oil paint and resin. My artistic currents are abstract expressionism and informal art. My guidelines are to emphasise spirituality, chance, the unexpected, loss of control and the play of light. If I were the precursor of a new artistic movement, it would be "ULTRABRILLANCE", which I have been developing and defending for several years. Vincent GILD’s work revolves around the concept of “Ultrabrilliance,” an artistic reflection on the pursuit of light, beauty, and aesthetics at the heart of contemporary societies. Through painting and sculpture, he explores the symbolic power of materials, radiance, and contrasts, seeking to reveal what elevates perception and nourishes the imagination. His work also questions the deep relationship between human beings and nature, highlighting the sensitive and spiritual bond that connects humanity to the living world. In his sculptures made of mortar enriched with pigments, and through the integration of noble materials such as gold, he pursues an approach aimed at bringing forth an invisible dimension — that of an inner, timeless light — where art becomes a space for contemplation, harmony, and reconnection.
