Arantza Recalde

Arantza, a 70 years old woman, is an artist to be discovered. She lives in the Basque Country in Spain,  where she was born. She lives now at the country side, where she paints every day, and where she also writes  poetry and diaries. She has been painting the last 25 years and now she wants to show her works to the world. Rennaissance motifs highlight the humanistic character of her works without loosing the link with actual reality and facing the most tragic and bloody events such as war conflicts or immigration problems with a pictorial  gesture of hope almost naïve, but more than a naïve style It is an attitude naive but totally firm.  Most of her paintings  start from a naturalistic character.  In fact most of the paintings are  accompanied by text in a diary form or by poetry written by the artist whose complicated life is also reflected in these paintings as well as they are displayed  in his magnificent and numerous drawings,  but they don't stay there because she introduces realistic elements in an organic and natural manner giving this fashion a strong symbolic character which reminds in a certain way to the symbolism of Marc Chagall.
