I'm interested in the more human qualities in society which are more representational than conceptual.

My studio work has evolved from examining commodification (of luxury items) in middle class social groups to a more specific view on cosmetics as a commodity. This does not necessarily include the actual cosmetics themselves but rather the idealized look achieved by using them. I concentrated specifically on portraiture, primarily catching peoples faces and the gestures they create when applying their cosmetics - possibly faces people dont want them to see but ironic as they are trying to create the face they want people to see!
