Julie Baugnet, a painter and book artist received her MFA from Minneapolis College of Art & Design. Currently she is Professor of Design at St. Cloud State University. She has taught courses in painting, drawing, printmaking, typography, artists' books, pre-press, package design, and 2D design. She has also served several times as faculty member and director for the British Studies program in England. In the past she has taught at Univeristy of Wisconsin-River Falls, Minneapolis College of Art & Design, and the University of Minnesota-Split Rock Program. She has also taught numerous workshops and has held residencies at La Muse in Languedoc, France, Le Parc, in Pampelonne, France, The Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna, Forida, and Peters Valley in Layton, New Jersey. She has been the recipient of many awards including the Alaska Fellowship Award, the Jerome Foundation Open Book Competition, and numerous travel grants. Her works are in many private and public collections including the Walker Art Center Library, U of MN Children's Hospital, St. Thomas College, and The Atlantic Richfield Corportation. Her work is represented at Circa Gallery in Minneapolis.
