Portraying inner and outer journeys, the intent is to capture a point in time where the subject is explored in becoming, thus more like a film than a photograph. Martin's output has been described as open-ended and sometimes pastoral, and it is theme-agnostic by choice.

Martin's attempts began in 2017. Painting is now a daily necessity, but he remains a self-taught artist.
