I grew up in Mid City Los Angeles in a family of three. The arts were a fundamental driving force in the household: allowing for access and exposure to possibilities beyond the standard norm. Influenced by hanging pieces by Pablo Picasso and Paul Gaugin, a young BLAK KANVAS™ began to accent the home with original works as well. Since then, authentic pieces have been created, sold, and shared.
As a form of expression, painting is used to share what is not verbally spoken. Mediums of acrylic paint, charcoal, and pastels, are used to define sharp figures: often reflecting images of a masculine form. More recently, self-reflecting images and portraits have debuted- showcasing abstractions of a softer, more delicate nature.
Currently awaiting for admission acceptances from varying Fine Art programs for Fall 2020.
