Emmanuel Chigbo Nwogbo

Emmanuel Bradley Chigbo Nwogbo is an action-wildlife painter, and the founding director of World Afforestation Foundation, an NGO dedicated to climate change mitigation, tree planting and forest preservation.

Folklore, religious and animistic depictures could also be found among his works. Nature watch, attending international art auctions, collecting tribal art and natural history, viewing notable works by old masters bordering on realism, such as Rembrandt, Paul Cezanne, all fused to inspire his indulgence in the above mentioned art genre.

His wildlife paintings are primarily used for printing nature support post cards, used as grass root campaign tools, of which thousands of copies are distributed around the world, as air passenger, or hotel guest’s free copies.

A graduate of system science, I,M.T, but has earlier acquired strong artistic and technical drawing skills from Government Technical College Enugu. He later sharpened his artistic skills at ARS AEMULA NATUREA INSTITUT, in Leiden, the Netherlands. This academy of art is affiliated to the University of Leiden.

Emma. Bradley Chigbo Nwogbo at 14, got initiated into nature observation after an encounter with a park of hyenas which chased and trapped him on a tree top, during an errand to fetch charcoal for his blacksmith father, who was then plying his trade at Samnaka in southern Zaria, though hailed from Awka, an ancient blacksmithing and carving empire in Anambra state of Nigeria. It was until day break, before the hyenas eventually dispersed.

His paintings are primarily for campaigns as nature preservation tools, but combined outing in 1999 with Sam Ovaritti, Akanni Prosper, and Abraham Uyoibisere, organized by Sheraton Hotel and Towers Lagos, during the Junior world Cup hosted by Nigeria, tagged Nigeria ’99, was a landmark.

Shell Nigeria wrote a commendation letter appreciating the commitment on nature preservation. There were newspapers attestations not only on the art form but purpose.

Several exhibitions had been held in Cotonou Benin, Hotel Bon Voyage by Kuramo Waters Victoria Island Lagos, The National Art Theater Iganmu Lagos, curated by Chief Momo Afegbua.
