Carolennys Ouellette

I was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, youngest child of four girls. I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil, and knew I wanted to be an artist from a very young age. From age four to thirteen, I lived in Miami, FL, where my talents were well noted and encouraged. However, it wasn't until I was 14 years old, and living in Jacksonville, FL, where I had the opportunity to attend the nationally recognized Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, which was were I fell in love with painting. In college, I learned the complexity and versatility of oil paints. Coupled with my love of the human figure, I knew this would be the subject matter and oil would be the medium that would consume my works, carrying the message I wish to share with the world.
