I'm a self-taught painter from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I love painting. It brings me so much happiness and peace. My artworks are collected all over the world (North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania).
I prefer abstract expression because it can transpose emotions and feelings just like music does. When looking an abstract work of art there is still space for imagination. Thus the process of creation is not finished yet.
Kandinsky was a great inspiration when I was in high school and college. I can still recall one sentence that struck me : «The colors are the keys of a keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, and the soul is the piano itself, with many strings, which are vibrating.» That phrase still inspires me today.
When I start a painting the colors are first applied for themselves, without restraint. I love bold and pure colors, mixing them on the canvas in a spontaneous way with large and fast gestures. Layers after layers, shapes and textures are created. Details are added to some parts. The combination of spontaneity and organization makes unique artworks that the contemplator is invited to embrace with an encompassing look, and then to closely detail.
