Rod Cameron

Born in Chicago, Rod Cameron came up as a young man surfing the beaches and points of southern California and it was in the 'art rich' little town of Laguna Beach, in those galleries, where the light came on to become an artist. Trained in painting and drawing at Otis Art Institute and the Art Students League of NY along with an in-studio apprenticeship in Palm Springs, CA with Keith Ward, he worked as an artist/designer for twenty years in southern CA, illustrating many children's books, toy packages for Warner Bros. and ad work for the "Los Angeles Times." "Most of this work, by design, readied me, by 2001, to move to Hawaii, to turn full focus on painting . Thankfully, my work, (murals included), have been collected all over the world, allowing me the excitement to paint almost everyday of my life."

I've been fortunate enough to have won many awards and to have had numerous shows around the world in Hawaii, Newport Beach, Berlin and in Prague, but my real happiness is when and if my paintings can bring even a just few moments of pleasure to someone each in the world each day.
