Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Claudio Santini's aesthetic consciousness for photography began at an early age. While studying at the Architectural University and the Instituto Europeo di Design in Rome, he discovered his unique gift for architectural photography practicing his profession and working as an artist at the same time until present. His photographs have been soon featured in many International publications and books and in American newspaper such as The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and many others. Today his artistic research mainly focuses on the representation of the reality of a particular aspect of the urban life: the street, the different typologies of dwellings and the symbols of the ornament/decor of the living environment man created through the different eras, from ancient times to the contemporary ones. His work is figurative because of the faithful recording of photography, however the digital process of his subjects evokes the contemplation of a silent abstraction in which the minimal representation is reached.
