Darko Kuzmanovic

In my work I’m inspired by interpersonal communication and relations, as well as communication of oneself with spiritual and symbolic elements.
Figures presented in free movement are ment to establish communication with the observer, provoking him to search for meaning, moving from banal associations to deep revelations. Caricature and simplification of expression seduce the observer, to whom the scenes seem naive and uncrafty at first. I aim to achieve humorous separation from pathetical and easy-to read “purpose”, downplayed to already seen answers to which we arrive without true inquisitiveness, and which are often presented via medium of realistic and plastic imagery. Nor wanting to cater to the eye of an average consumer of art, neither to sophisticated conceptual mind of a few selected connoisseurs, I’m trying to set us free from pre conviction and common concepts of an “artistic idea”.

Finished secondary vocational school for processing precious metals and training in the goldsmith's workshop run by Zlatko Marijanović.
Graduated Applied Sculpture at University of Applyed Arts in Belgrade in the class of professor Miroljub Stamenkovich.
In 2000 he became a member of artistic association ULUPUDS and has a status of freelance artist.
