Born in Massachusetts, raised in New Hampshire. I always loved art and drew from an early age. After attending RISD and graduating with a BFA in Graphic Design, I embarked on an 18 year career as an Art and Creative Director. In 2002, I decided to shift gears and try my hand as a full-time painter. I am happy to report that things are progressing nicely thus far. My work has been well received and I'm optimistic about the future potential. My genre is Photorealism. I take pictures, then spend several months replicating the image in oil, acrylic or graphite. The process is demanding yet rewarding. The end product is photo-based but completely hand-rendered. It is an exercise in craftsmanship that harkens back to an earlier time, when artists were respected for their ability to draw and create beautiful representations of the natural world.
