Since the early eighties, Douglas Thomson has had many solo exhibitions, mostly in European countries including Scotland, England, Germany and Switzerland, as well as exhibiting internationally in group exhibitions. He now lives in Scotland.
About the prints, he says: "There is one thing people say when they see digital prints that are: 'what's original like?' as though you had simply photographed the piece of work then manipulated it. They don't appreciate by using a tablet with a stylus you really feel like washing your hands. That's the sense of my involvement in it. It's like playing an electric guitar: the feeling of your fingers on fretboard provide a sensitivity and the amplifiers provide the sound."
