Rebecca Molloy

My practice is concerned with the manufacturing of environments from the combinations of bodies, objects and spaces. The work, which is, predominantly installation based is concerned with the deconstruction of sculpture, film and painting.

I aim to create environments that are aesthetically driven and focus on shifts of colour, morphing shapes, interacting body parts, sensations, variable textures and construction. The work explodes out of a starting point of 2D painting, into the realms of 3D and organically envelops the spaces that it inhabits which in turn questions our understanding of painting, sculpture and installation.
