About Ian Robinson
In my enthusiasm to capture a subject I visit museums, libraries and special collections learning along the way and making enquiries that fuel my own interests. The areas that interest me currently have been that of the collector, of archivists and of accumulations that behold a forensic value and interest. Aligning my interests with say the book historian or the enthusiast or collector uncovers the care and passion, explores the details, the signs and triggers and reveals ourselves, as a bonus it renders a visual translation. The still-life studies reflect something of an interior character with obsessive qualities and attempts to portray the spirit, the soul, and the physiognomy of objects. The ubiquitous collection has significance to me as a case study, project and painting.
