About Eleonora Spagnuolo

Born and raised in Rome, Italy, now living and creating in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

I am a painter in my heart and soul, but because I like to be busy, I am also a graphic designer and branding specialist, I give trainings in creative thinking, organize workshops on expressive painting, I co-founded a platform to support entrepreneurs.

My inspiration comes from different sources: I love Impressionists, Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Jackson Pollock, Cy Twombly and many other contemporary visual artists. Metal and rock concerts provide the musical background of my work. The water and the Dutch landscape that surround me bring me the serenity I need to create.

I hold a degree in Graphic Design and a Master Degree in Philosophy, and I took art classes at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, but I am basically self-taught when it comes to painting.

As a natural curious, I tried many techniques and materials, but I fell madly in love with acrylic when I discovered a big bottle of red paint during a class. I never stopped exploring the possibilities of this medium since then.

Being present in what I do and learn how the materials interact is my source of constant wonder and inspiration. Acrylic paint is very versatile and can be used in many ways, and my research is geared toward the fluidity of the medium and how I can use the different flow of it to create the effects I look for. Collage elements taken from my own pictures also find a place in many of my pieces.

My work has been featured in collective exhibitions in Italy and in the Netherlands, and has been sold internationally.

My goal is to find always new ways to use different materials to expand my vision and share it with the world.
