I was born in 1980 to a Colombian-American family in Washington, DC.
I received my BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design in 2002.
I earned my MFA in 2012 from Universidad Autónoma de Morelos in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where I was awarded a full scholarship and research grant from the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT).
