Gedra Simkus

I am a contemporary painter inspired by nature, the ocean, and people. My work is often driven by a feeling or a moment—the way light moves over water, the quiet mood of a landscape, or the expression on a face that tells a story without words.



I work with texture, layered paint, and expressive brushstrokes because I want my paintings to feel alive and emotional rather than perfect and controlled. I am especially drawn to seascapes and portraits, where I can explore both movement and mood—the energy of the sea and the quiet intensity of a human face.



Travel, especially time spent near the ocean, is a big part of my inspiration. Many of my paintings are created after spending time by the water, observing colors, textures, and atmosphere.



My goal is not just to paint what something looks like, but also what it feels like.
