Gavin E Calf

For a seasonal change I have taken to nature inspired drawings that could never end. I draw what I see, but I also draw what I "see" from my imagination. This way artists can time travel, levitate, submerge and work with complete impunity.

My base camp was copying Rembrandt etchings at 14.
My second base was a brief time learning under SA master, Cecil Skotnes who taught me how to see colour. I was 14.
Third came Johannesburg College of Art and Design 1970 - 1973. Graphic Design, Industrial Design and drawing from life.
Forth was Ruth Prowse Art School life painting under Ryno Swart 1983 - 1989.
Fifth - Artist's Co-operative founded 1989, which still going.
I have painted full time since 1998.
