Mehmet Kavas

He was born in 1960 in the Gürün, Sivas. He stayed in Sivas until his university education. He completed his undergraduate education in Istanbul Marmara Faculty of Fine Arts (Faculty of Applied Fine Arts) Graphic Arts Department in 1983. Until he started his military service in 1985, he carried out freelance graphic (poster, brochure, catalog, emblem) and painting works for 2 years. As a result of the 1986 Talent Exam, he started to work in the Graphics Service of the TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corp.) News Department. He continued to work on graphics and painting in his spare time. He opened 2 personal painting exhibitions in 1999 - 2000. After retiring from TRT in 2018, he continued his painting work. His paintings are in various institutions and collections. Mr. Kavas, who generally prefers watercolor, acrylic and mixed techniques, also has works of charcoal, lavy technique, pattern, scanning and india ink.

Mr. Kavas, who is a good observer, enjoys being in nature and transferring his impressions to the paper. While doing this, he exhibits an impressionist and sometimes expressionist approach. In his figurative works, he deals with the themes of joy, sadness, enthusiasm, anxiety and similar in human nature
