Gözde Yildirim

She was born in Mersin and graduated from the Painting Department of Nevit Kodallı Anatolian Fine Arts High School. She started her undergraduate education at. Mersin Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture, in 2011. İn 2014, she started Hatay Mustafa Kemal University,Faculty of Education, Department of Art Teaching and graduated in 2018. After working as a teacher for three years, she went abroad and took part in various art projects. Currently, she is continuing her Master's program at Mersin University Fine Arts Institute and continues her work in her workshop in Mersin.

Gözde Yıldırım expresses the journey of the mind in a mystical language in her portrait-oriented works. She tries to cover the traumas in the facial expressions with a veil. The expression is afraid of the dark and wants to see the light. The black and white scale she prefers in portraits emphasizes variability. The artist describes the symbolic motifs appearing in the background as seeking the peace of a mystical dream.

She likens her art to the journey of a dervish. Not knowing what she will encounter on this path and how the new emotional states engraved in her mind will take shape on her brush excites her. Art is an unknown journey.
