Ali Hammoud — Artist & Director

Adopting a fluid approach that remains unbounded by style or form, Ali Hammoud's artistic practice draws on a lifelong engagement with visual expression, design and the exploration of ideas. Introduced to art at an early age by local enthusiasts in his neighbourhood in Beirut, he joined an academy of fine arts at seventeen, where he studied a range of artistic disciplines and developed his technical foundations.

In 1975, following the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, Hammoud relocated to the United Kingdom. He subsequently studied at Dunstable College of Art, graduating with a BA in Advertising and Graphic Design in 1980. His education provided a foundation for a career in advertising and creative direction, working with leading international agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy, McCann Erickson and BBDO, among others.

His artistic practice encompasses abstract, figurative and surreal approaches, moving freely between styles, materials and forms. Working across different media, Hammoud explores the relationships between colour, gesture, texture and composition.
