Dusan Kirbis - visual artist and Professor for art and color theory at the University of Ljubljana.
Dusan Kirbis is visual artist, working primarily in painting but also focusing on photography, sculpture and site-specific art. His works has been included in the National Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana, various national and international art selections, important public and private collections and monographs on contemporary art.
Art critics have regularly followed Dusan Kirbis since the start of his artistic career at the end of the seventies and have assigned him a significant place in the context of the period or individual artistic phenomena in contemporary art. His earlier work has been included in a selected review of reductionist painting of the seventies, later in the sublime poetics of the eighties and or among the dark modernists. We are thus dealing with the work of an established artist whose opus has essentially marked contemporary art creativity and is already fixed in its history.
