Heidi Lewis Coleman

Heidi Lewis Coleman is an abstract artist whose Dreamscape Series reflects an exploration of imaginary landscapes inspired by the ancient lands of mythology and cultural lore, whether historical, fictional or fantastical. The shapes she paints and combines in her artwork are organic, thus referring to all forms of nature.
The artist creates her acrylic and cut paper pieces using Thai Kozo paper: a delicate, translucent tissue which is made from Kozo fiber. This paper incorporates imbedded bits of bark, leaves, petals and stems - natural elements which create texture and movement as they float across the surface of the artist’s abstract assemblage pieces.
Coleman studied art at Parsons and the New York School of Design, where she graduated with highest honors. Her artwork has been included in several private collections. She is a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists, the Women’s Caucus for Art and the Silvermine Guild of Artists. Coleman is an award winning artist who has exhibited widely in galleries and museums across the country, including the Mattatuck Museum, the Hammond Museum and the Katonah Museum of Art.
