Humberto C Pornaro

I am a visual artist, designer, and illustrator based in São Paulo, Brazil. My creative journey began in graphic arts and design, and over the years I have studied art and design at institutions including Senac, Instituto Tomie Ohtake, Quanta Academia, and Panamericana, developing a background that combines technical knowledge, professional experience, and independent artistic research.

My work moves freely between different techniques, materials, and visual languages, as I believe experimentation is an essential part of artistic creation. I work with graphite, pencil, ink, acrylic, oil, pastel, and watercolor, exploring the particular qualities of each medium. Watercolor holds a special place in my practice because of its transparency, fluidity, lightness, and the element of unpredictability it brings to the creative process.

Although my artistic journey has embraced different forms of expression, my current practice is primarily focused on abstract, geometric, and experimental art. I am particularly interested in the relationships between gesture, form, light, material, balance, and space.

Rather than providing a single interpretation, my works are intended to create space for contemplation and personal perception. I do not believe an artist should be confined to a rigid style. Each work is a field of investigation where technique and intuition coexist, allowing different series to develop their own identities while remaining connected by a sensitive, contemporary, and personal visual language.

More than representing what is already known, my work seeks to give form to what has not yet been fully defined.
