Artist Statement: Jem Ennis
My journey from a Graphic Designer to a contemporary artist has been about breaking away from the screen and diving into the realm of physical expression. The fragmentation in my work symbolizes the beauty we find in chaos, the harmony within disarray.
In this current series of work, I explore the concept of fragmentation—manipulating images until they are almost unrecognizable. It’s about breaking down the familiar into a mosaic of geometric shapes, held together by commonalities of colour and form.
