Joel Redman is based in the UK, working on projects nationally and internationally. His careful compositions and quite honest style lends itself to documenting thoughtful and unique stories, the work touches on communities, climate change and the environment. Assignments have allowed him to shoot in remote deserts, indigenous forest communities and icy cold winters within the Arctic Circle, as well as unique stories closer to home.
Highlights include having work exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, and being shortlisted for International Photographer of the year at the Lucie Awards.
Socially compelling stories have meant him working on the fresh water crisis in Cape Town, South Africa. How industry and a proposed railway are looking to impact the indigenous Sami people within the Arctic, as well as the many facets facing indigenous forest communities and how they can be an answer to saving and conserving forests and impacting positively on climate change.
Away from photography Joel enjoys spending time with his two young sons outdoors and travelling as a family as much as possible.
