Lori Bennett

Lori is a Bayou Region Artist from Des Allemands, Louisiana and current resident of Raceland, Louisiana. She is the daughter of crab fishermen, from whom she learned to have a profound appreciation for the natural beauty, colors, and textures that created her home landscape. She received her B.F.A. from Nicholls State University in 2010 , and has returned to pursue another passion, Dietetics. She works part time as both an artist and personal trainer when not doing school work, or spending time with her husband and sons. Lori's work often centers around the human figure, but she focuses on movement and emotion of line, perceived textures, and dramatic color. She enjoys the whimsical and fantastical, and hopes to share her musings through her art, which she views as a cross between visual poetry and stationary dance .
