Jamin (b. 1976, Sydney) is a Tasmanian based artist known for his vibrant murals and street art as well as his contemporary approaches to visual art, harnessing and combining a variety of painting styles with other material-based experimental approaches to develop innovative and dynamic works. His creative output extends into music festivals, staging, restaurants and even two of the Mona ferries that operate in Hobart. Jamin maintains a dynamic engagement with the flow of new and sometimes radical ideas, drawing from Zen, Deleuze, Science and Music.
Jamin has produced mural work internationally in Moscow, Paris and Bangkok as well as nationally and across Tasmania. In 2018 his gallery-based works were selected for the Biennale of Australian Art in Ballarat and in 2008 for Contemporary Australia: Optimismat the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Brisbane. He was the Visual Curator and Artistic Associate of MONA FOMA’s Faux Mofestival from 2015-2017.
Jamin is a PhD candidate at the School of Creative Arts & Media, University of Tasmania, where his thesis explores illusions produced by material assemblages.
