Aia Kora Born in Ukraine, based in Poland. In my artistic practice, I explore corporeality, emotionality, and female identity. I’m particularly interested in the body as a language—how it speaks of inner states, of openness or closure, of vulnerability and strength. My works depict female figures, faces, gestures—not in a naturalistic way, but through an abstract-conceptual lens. These are body fragments, silhouettes that convey emotions, observations, and my personal sensations. I am especially drawn to women’s experiences, particularly those of migrant women—individuals with whom I continuously engage through my social and educational work. I observe attentively: how a person sits, moves, gestures, reacts. My art is an attempt to capture these intangible signals and give them visual form. I work primarily with traditional painting on canvas, often incorporating embroidery—not as a strict reference to textile art, but as a means of rethinking painting itself. For me, fabric becomes not only a material but also a carrier of touch and emotion. My artistic practice coexists with my educational work: I lead workshops, art-therapy sessions, and creative projects with women, supporting them in expressing themselves through art. This is not only a source of livelihood for me but also a fundamental part of my worldview—nurturing, sharing, and staying connected.
