Richard Waites

I am a graduate of Winchester School of Art.My paintings are explorations of language, form and space. Generally they are informed by contemporary cultural influences and environments but create new relationships and contexts between them. I am interested in increasing possible interpretations and expanding the paintings' internal dialogues. Some motifs and signs are also incorporated, although they are removed from their originally intended functions. Nonetheless they carry a residual potency; a cultural resonance with which the viewer may find some familiarity.
