Animals and nature have always brought me the most joy. As a child, I would be content to sit and observe the workings of an ant colony or search the ground for interesting rocks, various feathers and other "treasures". When it came to animals, every...single...one was interesting to me in their own way and that has been carried through to my current work. Each piece aims to highlight the characteristics I see as beautiful or interesting and by rendering it in a highly realistic manner without color nor a background, the viewer can focus solely on that subject. When I choose an animal to draw, I think about the position it should be in, whether in motion or still, looking directly at the viewer or not. The size and composition plays a huge part in my work.
