Ulie Schwab

Ulie Schwab, born in 1950, is an abstract Swiss painter of German origin. She has exhibited her work on numerous occasions in China, Switzerland, across the European Union and in the United States. Her paintings can be found in collections in many countries, including the collection of the Swatch Group Foundation. One of her artworks hangs in the office of the President of the Swiss Confederation at the Federal Palace in Bern.

Her style, technique and use of color are highly personal. The creation of reliefs, multiple layers of color and the incorporation of minerals lend her paintings a distinctive light and quality of reflection.

Her favorite themes revolve around the energies of the universe, humanity and nature. Her study of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as her passion for Eastern culture, have strongly influenced her artistic approach.

In her painting, Ulie explores the vulnerability of human beings and nature, a fragile relationship of interdependence. She seeks to express the deep connection that binds us to the living world, a sensitive memory that reminds us that we are not separate from nature, but an integral part of it.
