A person once told me it is a curse to wish someone an "interesting" life. I have found this is only somewhat true because my life has indeed been an interesting one. From a childhood spent living all over the United States and traveling on my families sailboat around the atlantic and pacific oceans to many years now living in Europe. First in Hungary, where I got my art education and now recently in Spain, where I met my second love during lock-down. Settling in the charming, ancient, white washed, mountain village of Casares. Here I now reside. Painting in the shadow of the ruined castle that looms above my studio. For years I have expressed my emotions and ideas on the canvas drawing from history and myth. I began as a figurative surrealist and classical artist but in 2013 I fought and beat cancer and this changed me in a fundamental way. My work became brighter and I increasingly use abstraction in my work. Using symbols, colors and textures to create paintings that are both figurative yet with strong abstract elements. I often explore the duality of life and this existence we all share. Life and death, youth and age, the body and spirit. It is all connected. We are all connected... to EVERYTHING. I celebrate this.
