Eira-Shay Barker-Hart

Eira-Shay is a figurative painter from a remote island off the west coast of Canada who currently resides on the Gold Coast, Australia. Her paintings weave intimate narratives of mysticism with a hunger for the interconnection of self and nature.

Eira-Shay has gained recognition for her distinctive painting style, which combines oil, charcoal, and wood carving. Natural themes and elements ring through her pre-reaphelite style, portrayed with a modern twist. Inspired by her obsession with light, she developed a unique technique of "shadow casting," using foliage from the forest to cover her models in delicate motifs. She is renowned for creating immersive art exhibitions incorporating audio and visual elements to encapsulate her viewers within her art. Her last solo exhibition, Catching Light, was held in Miami Gold Coast in 2024. She won Highly Commended in the Federation Art Prize, NSW, Australia, in 2020.
