My name is Sarinrat Sornkam, and my nickname is ‘May.’ I am a pottery artist. Creating pottery is a deeply personal experience for me. It allows me to gather my soul, energy, peacefulness, and even my challenging emotions. I bring all of these forces together to create artwork that feels like a meaningful expression of who I am and the vision I want to share with the world. As a self-taught potter, my creative journey has been shaped by embracing failure, letting go, practicing self-forgiveness, and cultivating patience and focus. These values are at the heart of everything I create. I named my pottery practice ThroughGood Pottery because it is inspired by life itself—especially the resilience needed to overcome challenges and the beauty of seeing things from a different perspective. I am passionate about expressing motivation, joy, and hope in ways that feel authentic and heartfelt. The artworks I paint on my ceramics are intended to speak directly to their audiences, forming connections through their unique stories. Sometimes, I design them to make viewers feel slightly uncomfortable, encouraging them to explore new emotions or uncharted perspectives. My pottery and artwork reflect how I strive to live my life: true to my heart and dedicated to creating hope for people.
