BIOGRAPHY OF THE AUTHOR

I am Mato Jurkovic and was born in 1945. I'm an academic painter from Croatia and I was a longtime professor at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Zagreb, now a retired.

My pictures are mostly related to figurative themes (flowers and still life paintings, landscape and urban landscape, modern sails, sacral motive, animalism (dogs portrait), nudes and interior and umbrellas), which is manifested by numerous catalogs and other documents.

I continue to be active in paintings, on standalone and group exhibitions and participate in humanitarian painters' actions.

1967 - 1971 Academy of fine arts, University of Zagreb
I studied classical painting.
In year 1982 till my retirement I was a full time professor in University of Zagreb, Faculty of graphic arts.

I have more than 60 independent exhibitions.
