Michelle Samaras

My artistic journey is a continuous exploration of form and expression, where the boundaries between functionality and creativity blur. Working as a self-taught artist, I craft pieces that resonate on multiple levels, drawing inspiration from the natural world.

I have participated in several exhibitions and projects that have allowed me to showcase my work and collaborate with fellow artists.

In October 2023, I was a stallholder at the Sydney Ceramics Market at Carriageworks, which provided a great opportunity to connect with collectors and art lovers.

I was also a finalist in the National Emerging Art Prize exhibition at Michael Reid Art Bar, where I had the chance to display my functional sculptures alongside a diverse range of emerging artists.

In December 2023, I participated in the group exhibition “Summer Salt” at Newcastle Art Space, where my pieces were featured in a curated collection celebrating local talent. In October 2024,

I was featured in the Arts to Hearts Project as an artist profile in “The Creative Book Process”, highlighting my creative journey and artistic practice.

I was honoured to have my work recognised in January 2025, with two pieces featured in the February edition of Belle magazine and one of my pieces gracing the cover of the book “Curated Style” by Kerrie-Ann Jones. These opportunities have significantly expanded my visibility in the art and design communities.
