Stephanie Massaux was born and raised in Manhattan and studied fine art at Purchase College and the School of Visual Arts in New York. Stephanie's work develops intuitively, incorporating diverse layers that alternate between conscious, deliberate choices and unpredictable interventions. Her medium of choice is a subtle mixture of highly pigmented oil paint and cold wax, which allows her to create complex layers through both additive and subtractive techniques. This process of superimposition enables her work to evolve organically. Drawing inspiration from both the conscious and unconscious mind, as well as from the urban environment she calls home, Stephanie's art reflects a dynamic interplay between intention and spontaneity.
