Biunivoco Drawing

Hi, I’m Lantomo, pseudonym of Antonella Montes, an Italian artist based in Barcelona. My drawings are suspended between realism and vision, through the detailed and ephemeral use of graphite. I try to refine details and techniques to the max, in order to represent an unobjective reality, to describe all the nuances of sensations, through faces, eyes, mouths. My latest production evidence an undeniable oriental influence, product of my long stay in Beijing. The drawing is my tool of expression, candid and direct. The passion for drawing, inherited from my mother, has been a constant in my life. I studied architecture in Italy, in Rome and Genova; then move to Spain, specializing in scenography and exhibition design. Just a few years ago, since 2010, I started to dedicate myself exclusively to painting, and my passion has definitely become my job. And in this journey, my stay of almost two years in Beijing, China, has left an indelible trace. My drawings have become more accurate and detailed; my colors, black and white, with touches of red, and my faces have come to have Asian features. Since then I have participated individually in several exhibitions, in galleries in Barcelona (Artevistas Gallery, Artspace gallery MITTE, Opera lounge, galeribcn), and in Beijing; along with several collective exhibitions.
