Jennifer Margaret Jones

I was born in Wallasey Cheshire July 1950 one of twins.We are both artists as is our older brother . I Studied Commercial Art and Display and Design at Wallasey Art School, going on to work in the commercial sector, before taking up painting on a full time basisMy name is Jennifer Margaret Jones. I have been painting since childhood, mostly being self taught except for my time at art college where I studied commercial art and display. I like to paint in most mediums, though I started in water colour, painting landscapes and flowers from my garden. I am inspired by everything from flowers to vast landscapes. I also enjoy Life studies. When executing my floral oil paintings I paint straight onto the surface without first drawing the subject as this gives me a more fluent and fresh approach. I like to use vibrant colours and subtle mixes and scratch into the medium used to give detail .I sign my work as Jennifer Margaret. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.

I was educated at St Georges Secondary School Wallasey, attending art school during term time on Saturday mornings. I went on to study Commercial art and Display then going on to work in the Commercial sector. I have showed my work in several arts society exhibitions on the Wirral as a member of Deeside Art Group and in local art shops and craft centres. I moved to North Wales six years ago and exhibited in Colwyn Bay during the summer of 2005 and 2006.,
