Juliana Aschwanden-Vilaca

The simplicity of the subjects explored by Juliana Vilaca seems to hide the complex trajectory covered by the artist. At the age of two, as a child prodigy, she already shared her toys out with many colour pencils. The drawing came together with her during all her childhood, showing since early years, her natural talent for Arts. At fifteen, she finds in painting a wider perspective, intensified in her future academic background. Simultaneously interested in Arts and environmental matters, in the University of Architecture, at eighteen, would be where she would find the connection between art and nature, widely explored in her work. The contact with ecology as a consequence of her studies in Landscapes Architecture and Environment deepens even more her focus in bucolic subjects. Her studies in Photography at nineteen, offered her a bigger freedom of expression for her compositions in her painting. The captured images are reinterpreted and enriched through the brushes, making them more lively in the most singular scenes.
