Luigi Cona is a self-taught artist based in Milan, Italy. He began drawing on the streets at the age of 16, and has never stopped observing the world around him. His work draws inspiration from the people and everyday moments he encounters in the city — gestures, glances, ordinary scenes that become the starting point for a visual meditation.
Working primarily with watercolor and ink, Luigi transforms these observations into geometric compositions that move between the figurative and the abstract. For him, painting is a form of meditation — a way of understanding others through the study of form and color.
He has exhibited with artist collectives and sells his work internationally through Saatchi Art.
Primarily self-taught, Luigi Cona developed his artistic practice through independent research, continuous experimentation and a multidisciplinary approach to contemporary visual language.
His work evolved outside traditional academic structures, allowing him to build a highly personal and intuitive relationship with composition, form and emotional expression.
