Cihan Polat

My artistic practice is continuously developing a vision to interpret ordinary subjects into an authentic piece of art. My inspiration is urban life, city architecture and the nature. I experiment with harmonic juxtaposition of values, colors and reference subjects. Even though I pay attention to technical planning, I believe that the uniqueness of a painting comes from the calligraphic marks and brushstrokes. I consider myself still in an evolving period that I would acquire a unique style and character based on my calligraphic prints.

I stay mostly on the realistic side, whereas I lean to abstraction from time to time.
